Web Applications Programmer
iPost seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated programmer eager to work on user interfaces and application programming interfaces in a LAMP framework. Responsibilities include maintaining and improving an existing HTML/mod_perl web application, developing new user interfaces with Web 2.0 technologies such as AJAX, and using and creating web-based APIs for interacting with applications and databases. You must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic and thrive in a small company environment.

REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- Commercial or enterprise software development experience preferred but not essential.
- New college graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Experience creating interactive applications in Adobe Flash 9 desired.
- Programming experience with networking protocols including SMTP, ESMTP, and HTTP, and knowledge of DNS query and response structure a plus.
- Experience writing SQL queries on an RDBMS such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebird, SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase or Siebel also beneficial.
Technical Skills
- Comfortable in a Linux or MacOS X development environment.
- Competency in source-level editing of HTML, CSS2 and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of AJAX, JSON, XML, SOAP and WSDL for web APIs.
- Familiarity with source control systems (CVS, etc.)
Personal Skills
- Ability to work productively and effectively with minimal supervision, and to commit to and take ownership of tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communications skills, including writing developer documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Resourcefulness in obtaining 3rd party freeware code, Java class packages, Perl modules, and coding tools.
Flash Programmer
iPost is expanding its suite of interactive analytics tools, and seeks experienced contractors familiar with Adobe Creative Suite 3 to undertake new development and some ongoing maintenance of Flash components.
The programmer should be well versed in calling CGIs to obtain XML data used to populate the interface and respond to user input, and capable of manipulating bar graphs and similar displays.
Contract rate offered depends on experience. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
